Deep crimson. Intense sweet dark cherry, cassis aromas with vanilla notes. Sweet and savoury wine with plentiful sweet dark cherry, blackcurrant, blackberry fruits and fine loose-knit chalky textures. Finishes inky and drying. 55% cabernet sauvignon, 20% merlot, 15% cabernet franc, 10% petit verdot. 14 months in around 30% new French oak.

Kräftige Farbe. Reiffruchtige, offene Nase, kräuterige Noten, Brombeergelée. Im Gaumen fruchtig, mit Druck und Frische, die Frucht ist knackig, die Tannine markieren, der Wein hat Rasse und einiges an Ecken und Kanten, hallt frisch und rotfruchtig nach, endet auf einen Hauch grüne Paprika. 2026-2040 (Verkostet im April 2022. A promising effort, the 2021 Haut Bergey delivers aromas of rich berry fruit, plums and spices, followed by a medium-bodied, nicely balanced palate. If it continues to flesh out with élevage, it should land toward the upper end of my bracketed score.
