Desmirail - Margaux 2022
The estateIn 1741 Jean-Baptiste Desmirail gave his name to this property in Margaux, when he received it from his wife. The château belonged to the Desmirail family until just before the 1855 classification, when it was purchased by Monsieur Sipière, the steward of Château Margaux. It was under his ownership that Desmirail obtained the rank of 3rd Grand Cru Classé. In 1980, Lucien Lurton purchased the estate and passed it on to Denis Lurton, his son, in 1992. He continues the work of his father and celebrates, with the 2022 vintage, his 30th vintage at the helm of the estate. On this occasion, the bottle is adorned with a special label designed by the artist Anaïs Vindel.
The 2022 vintage - "the one special vintage of a carreer"
"2022 is probably the exceptional vintage of a career, like the 61, 45, or 29 were for some; it will undoubtedly be mine. Desmirail reaffirms with this superb 2022 vintage the style that I chose to promote thirty years ago: a wine focused on elegance, suppleness, and roundness. In short, a Margaux in the Margaux style. It is also with the 2022 vintage that I celebrate my 30th anniversary at Desmirail. For this occasion a special label ('collector') has been designed, featuring the artwork of a young Bordeaux artist, Anaïs Vindel." Denis Lurton
