The 2021 vintage, Know-how, the key factor in the vintage
Etienne Charrier tells you the story of this vintage: https://bit.ly/PrieureLichine2021
After a particularly rainy and mild winter, the budburst of the vines accelerated at the end of March exposing even the latest parcels to the risk of a major frost. Unfortunately, two nights at the beginning of April confirmed the teams' fears. Fortunately, the Grand Vin plots resisted well.
The wet and mild spring required the teams to keep an eye on the vineyard and to be as involved as possible in order to ensure the harmonious development of the budding grapes. With relief, the summer is going on without weather excesses. The harvest and vinification will allow to reach a very good phenolic maturity.
The pleasant surprise in this vintage were the vats of Cabernet-Sauvignon, which showed a silky tannic structure, together with precisely-defined aromas of red berry fruits.
