Haut Batailley - Pauillac 2021
AN EXCEPTIONAL VINEYARD
Château Haut-Batailley, symbolised by the Tour l’Aspic tower, marks the entrance into the Pauillac vineyard. Located to the south-west of the appellation, bordering the Saint-Julien AOC, its vines stretch over 22 hectares of deep Garonne gravel soils. The Cazes family, who also ownns Lynch Bages and Ormes de Pez, acquired the estate in March 2017. This purchase reinforces the family's strong roots in the Pauillac and Medoc landscapes.
The planted grape varieties, quite typical of the Pauillac appellation, include 65% Cabernet Sauvignon and 35% Merlot. The average vine age is 45 years and planting density is 10,000 vines per hectare. The vineyard has been perfectly maintained and monitored. Replacement vines have regularly been planted when needed.
