The 2019 Fayat is a bold, juicy wine. Strong torrefaction notes from the oak are a bit distracting though. There is plenty of textural intensity, and yet the flavors are muddled and lacking in focus. I liked this more from barrel.

Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2019 Fayat is a little closed to begin, offering subtle notes of baked black cherries, mulberries and stewed plums with emerging hints of dusty soil, sautéed herbs and black truffles with a waft of tapenade. Medium to full-bodied, the palate has a solid, well-constructed frame of firm, ripe tannins and seamless freshness supporting the muscular black fruits, finishing earthy.

The 2019 Fayat is a friendly, easygoing Pomerol. I would prefer to drink it on the young side, while the fruit retains its youthful juiciness. Inky blue fruit and sweet spice meld into the supple finish. The 2019 is not especially complex, but it is quite tasty. Best of all, it should drink well upon release.

Plums, blackcurrants, tobacco, and loamy earth all emerge from the 2019 Château Fayat. This chewy, medium to full-bodied, savory Pomerol will keep for 10-12 years.

The 2019 Fayat is missing a bit of pizzazz on the nose, just a bit static at the moment. The palate is showing more promise with plenty of liquorice-infused black fruit, fine acidity, but it needs more personality on the tarry finish.

Medium-bodied, soft, forward and fruity with an open personality and a plummy, chocolate coated, black cherry essence. This is already so easy to drink that you can enjoy it for all of its polished fruity character in its youth, or age it for more complexity. 90-92 Pts

A very refined, pretty barrel sample with dark-berry, black-olive and dark-chocolate aromas and flavors. It's full-bodied and flavorful. Really polished.
