Deanston Virgin Oak - Single Malt Whiskey 46.3 °

This single malt, unfiltered without cold and without artificial coloration, has the peculiarity of having finished in new American oak barrels which have not contained bourbon or whiskey beforehand. A technique that is rather rare and costly to give a more dry and spicy profile to whiskey. Nose: Nose first floral (white flowers), then evolving on yellow fruits (pear, quince) and especially on cereals and dried hay. Palate: Silky attack, pleasant, then the malt develops a real power with some traces of gray pepper and ginger. The yellow fruits remain present, with discretion, accompanied by notes of vanilla. The finish is long and fresh, rather dry and spicy. Malted, honeyed, floral and finely woody.

Deanston Virgin Oak - Single Malt Whiskey 46.3 °

Deanston was founded in 1967 by Deanston Distillery Co. Ltd. It is housed in a former cotton weaving factory built in 1785 by architect Richard Arkwright. The production of whiskey begins the following year and the first Scotch whiskey is marketed in 1971. It is sold under the name of Old Bannockburn. All whiskeys in this distillery are unfiltered, meaning that nothing is added and nothing is removed. Except, of course, if you count the time, devotion and commitment that goes into each bottle.
