Big Peat 46 ° - Blended Malt Scotch Whiskey - Douglas Laing

Nose: Fresh, salty and clean in opening, it gradually incorporates notes of barley malted, peaty (i.e. dried under the peat). He claims his moist, earthy character that brings him a certain punch. Taste: On the palate, sensations of ash, soft tar, but also beaches and smoking chimneys. A long and persistent finish with the salty side, acidity of licorice, but even more notes of smoke and bonfire.

Big Peat is a remarkable marriage of several Malt Whiskey from Islay Island. It is proudly raised without coloring or cooling filtration and bottled while its alcohol content is high (46%). This brings a naturally oily nature that promises an incredible mouth feel. With Caol Ila bringing sweetness, Bowmore a perfect balance, Ardbeg earthy and medicinal quality and Port Ellen a certain elegance, Big Peat represents everything Islay in a bottle. Douglas Laing retains of course some secrets of manufacture but it will remain a peaty little secret!
