This rather attacking Dassault summons up plenty of energy and charges at the palate with raw oak tones and masses of black fruit. It is not particularly plush or ripe, but it makes up for this in energy and effort. I like the toasty spice as it cuts through the black cherry fruit. It may not be a classy number, but this is a wine that makes up for lack of polish with gusto and enthusiasm. 16.5

Firm and fine-tannined with finesse and length to the medium tannins that run the length of the wine. Stone and blackberry flavors. Medium-bodied.

The 2021 Château Dassault is a rich, chocolaty, red and black-fruited effort with medium-bodied richness, ripe yet present tannins, good overall balance, and a good finish. It's another charming, nicely balanced 2021 that's going to drink nicely with just short-term bottle age.

Élégance des tannins longs qui déroulent une aromatique florale et poivrée assurant une finale de haut vol.

Medium-deep crimson. Dark cherry, praline, hint liquorice aromas. Chocolaty and slinky wine with generous sweet dark cherry, plum fruits, fresh chalky/ al dente tannins and savoury oak complexity. Finishes chewy/ cedary and long. Juicy elements at the finish. Very elemental but could develop really well. 55% merlot, 35% cabernet franc, 10% cabernet sauvignon. 15 months in new and seasoned oak. 13.3% alc

As a Chateau born on the sandy clay soil, it is very rare for it to possess such a good and firm structure in 2021. In my opinion, the 30% Cabernet Franc and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon blend have played an important role. Its aromas are dominated by the spicy notes of licorice, star anise, the fragrance of blueberry and haw rolls, and the signature violet scent of Dassault in recent years. The palate is powerful, with the ideal structure and nice aftertaste, making it a good wine overall. However, Dassault was affected by frost in 2021, resulting in an extremely low yield. It is thus quite remarkable for it to maintain such high quality. ?????????????,???2021?????????????????,???30%????+10%??????????????????????????????????;????????;??Dassault????????????????????,??????????????,??????????Dassault???????,????,??????,?????

Espresso, coffee bean, smoke, forest leaf, tobacco and dark red fruits crowd into the nose and also in the round, supple, lushly-textured palate. You can enjoy this for all its up-front, ripe fruits on release. Drink from 2023-2038. 89-91

The 2021 Dassault is very different in style. The more bombastic Saint-Émilion is much more finessed and mineral-driven on the nose, while the palate is elegant and cohesive, subtle tertiary notes infusing the bright red fruit on the finish. Delightful.

The 2021 Dassault is very, very good. Dark and ample, the 2021 possesses terrific depth and fine balance at this stage. Inky dark fruit, chocolate, licorice, mint, spice, tobacco and mocha are nicely pushed forward. This succulent yet mid-weight Saint-Émilion has a ton to offer.
