Dame de Bouard - Montagne Saint-Emilion 2022

After working along her father's sides for a decade, Coralie de Boüard took over the management of Château La Fleur de Boüard in 2012. 4 years later, this passionate and enthusiastic winemaker bought a 30-hectare vineyard in the appellation of Montagne Saint-Emilion. The vines are located on clay-limestone slopes, in front of "grands crus classés" from Saint-Emilion, such as Fleur Cardinale, Valandraud and Fombrauge. Thanks to a precise and virtuous approach, Coralie de Boüard is making a wine full of elegance and finesse.

Dame de Boüard is the second wine of Château Clos de Boüard. Another expression of the terroir of Clos de Bouard. The fruity side and the nice volume in the mouth of this wine gives it a hedonistic character and a great drinkability.

A well-made, structured and vivid red. This shows aromas of currants, dried herbs and baking spices. Medium-bodied, refined and pulpy, it has fine tannins and a flavorful finish. Try from 2026.

Juicy and bright, clearly quite tannic giving a graphite, chalky and creamy texture, but a generous push of fruit from start to finish. Concentrated but well worked, clean and direct, focussed with purity. Excellent acidity really gives the freshness and life, with the tannins giving some tension and restriction right now but this feels well worked and will be nice once it has softened a bit. HVE certified.

Dame de Boüard 2022 is a pinnacle achievement of the past five years, boasting a silky and soft texture thanks to the nourishment from the clay-limestone veins. Unlike previous vintages, it overcomes the issue of oxidation and presents exquisite aromas of raspberry, strawberry, juicy mulberry, and violet, like a meticulous painting with every detail clearly visible. This wine highlights the unique advantages of Montagne Saint-Émilion in the face of climate change and has limitless potential for the future.

Ruby red, attractive colour that reflects the ripeness of the vintage without pushing too hard. Edge of reduction on the nose, needs to open up but there is an earthy charm here, heat from the alcohol is well balanced by slate tannins, roughly hewn limestone character nothing too polished, plenty of charm, sweet ripe berry fruit.
