Ripe and enticing, with layers of plum sauce, fig, boysenberry pâte de fruit and black licorice melded together and kept lively by a bouncy anise note. Fresh acidity carries the finish. Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Drink now through 2018. 1,750 cases made.

Vin coloré au nez truffé et finement résiné, relevé par une note crémeuse puis beaucoup de fraîcheur rappelant le zeste d'agrumes. Bouche douce, moelleuse à la texture suave, au corps velouté et particulièrement bien bâti. Finale savoureuse, épicée, fruitée et longue. L'éclat du fruit est remarquable et les tanins fins. Ici le goût l'emporte sur toutes choses il me fait penser aux qualités du cousu main vis-à-vis du monde d'à côté, beaucoup plus industriel. Un des seuls vins ayant une vraie finale cette année. Encore bravo ! Et vive la biodynamie ! (88-89/100 points)

Full red-ruby. Expressive aromas of currant, espresso and tobacco leaf, with an aromatic spicy quality. Then sweet and fine-grained in the mouth, with fresh redcurrant and apricot jelly flavors dominating. Very high acidity gives this a distinctly juicy quality but the wine's smooth tannins won't get int he way of enjoying this wine soon.

Tart acids dominate this cuvee, which may have just finished malolactic fermentation. It is composed of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc and was made from tiny yields. I usually find proprietor Thierry Valette’s wines to be better from bottle than they show from cask. Nevertheless, this 2011 reveals some attractive cranberry and sweet and sour cherry notes intermixed with dusty, loamy, earthy undertones, and medium-bodied, angular acids. Anticipated maturity: 2015-2023.

Deep cherry crimson. Very ripe fruit-cake aroma. Then much fresher tasting and extremely juicy on the palate. Acidity sticks out a bit on the finish. (JH)
