The 2015 Clos des Jacobins is silky and unctuous, but is also understated, with plenty of nuance throughout. Hints of violet, lavender, smoke, menthol and licorice meld into a core of cherry jam, blackberry and mocha. An attractive Saint-Émilion, the Clos des Jacobins is built for near and medium-term drinking. Hubert de Boüard consults for proprietors Magali and Thibaut Decoster. Tasted two times.

Very dark bright crimson. Muted but well-mannered nose. Thick and just the right side of syrupy on the palate. What a lot we got! Just a bit drying on the end. Shades of the 1990s…

89–91. Barrel Sample. Attractive fruits are balanced by some dusty tannins, as well as hints of new wood and spice. There is a smoky character that gives a textured character to the bright palate, boasting lively acidity.

Ma meilleure note donnée à ce cru en primeur.
Il rejoint ainsi le niveau des 2009 et 2010 voire chronique n° 203. Couleur intense et belle. Nez fruité, mûr, truffé. Beau. Entrée en bouche grasse, le vin se développe opulent, juteux, fondant aussi avec du goût et des tannins fins. Persistance épicée et longue. C'est délicieux. Bravo.

Tiefes Purpur, satt in der Mitte, Granatschimmer am Rand. Extensives Bouquet, viel Beerendruck, Lakritze und dunkle Edelhölzer, da sind auch Pfeffernoten mit drin. Im Gaumen ein richtiger Cassiscocktail mit fein ausgelegten Tanninen. Sehr modern vinifiziert, aber die dieser Klasse stört das absolut nicht. 18/20 2022 – 2036
