This is a polished white with notes of pineapple, mango stones, lemons, cedar and white pepper. Medium-to full-bodied, concentrated and layered. Nice complexity.

The 2021 Cuvée Caroline has quite a spicy, well-defined nose with touches of musk coming through. The palate is well balanced, taut and fresh, delivering crisp acidity and sour lemon and bell pepper on the finish. Quite a complex Cuvée Caroline this year and definitely well priced.

Lychee, elderflower and apricot fruits dominate the initial taste backed up by a round frame that is given support by the wood ageing that is evident in terms of structure, weight and flavour nuance - a slight oak, spiced edge to the mid palate and finish. A bold wine style with plenty going on. The fruit feels well positioned and the body is there, the two just feel a little disconnected right now but lots of potential here. Excellent precision in each of the details.
