The 2021 Château Canon Pécresse is a beautiful wine in the making. Checking in as 65% Merlot and 35% Cabernet Franc, it has a great nose of ripe blue fruits and flowers. This carries to a medium-bodied, seamless 2021 with fine tannins, a supple, elegant texture, and outstanding balance. The Cabernet Franc really leads at this point, and it's just a pure, floral, elegant wine that will have 10-12 years or more of longevity.

The 2021 Canon Pécresse feels a little smudged on the nose, showing mainly red, plummy fruit and baking spices. The palate is a little charred on the entry. There are some wood tannins here and an overly simple, one-dimensional finish.

The 2021 Canon Pécresse is a real success, revealing aromas of black fruits, blueberry, flowers and a touch of blackcurrant. Medium-bodied, pure and precise, it’s tense with bright acids and a refined, tense and mouthwatering finish. This is a blend of 75% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Franc.

Joli nez de fruits frais, de murier et de réglisse. Belle tension, une empreinte très calcaire avec une bouche légèrement racinaire qui laisse les tanins structurants envelopper l'ensemble. Belle bouteille en devenir.

A blend of 65% Merlot and 35% Cabernet Franc from the clay-limestone plateau, the 2021 Canon Pécresse offers up aromas of licorice, sweet cherries and berries, followed by a medium-bodied, lively palate framed by powdery, youthfully assertive tannin. It should flesh out nicely over the course of its 16-month élevage in barriques.
