Beauregard (BIO-ORGANIC) - Pomerol 2023

Château Beauregard, the pleasure from eyes to palate

Owned by the Moulins and Cathiard families since 2014, Château Beauregard is being reborn around its primary function: to produce a great Pomerol wine in the heart of a historic place dedicated to the residence of its guests. The property has built its reputation for several decades, not only on the majesty of the place, but also thanks to remarkably fresh and elegant wines.

Historically, it was one of the first estates in the region to expand its vineyards in the 18th century, and has enjoyed an exceptional terroir ever since. Its location on the southeastern edge of the famous Pomerol plateau allows the estate to exploit fascinating and valuable land for the cultivation of vines. Its vineyard covers 17.5 hectares - making it one of the largest in the Pomerol appellation - and is composed of more than 35 plots.

Driven by the desire to develop this estate with great humility and rigor, the teams decided to implement organic farming in 2009. This philosophy, both engaging and demanding, is bearing fruit today. The wines have gained in purity, freshness and ageing capacity.

Deep merlot fruit aromas with a chalky, lightly peppery edge. Plush yet quite restrained. Well judged and precise, with ripe, juicy fruit and fine, satiny tannins that are polished yet tense and cohesive. Medium- to full-bodied with an elegant finish. From organically grown grapes. Drink or hold.

Nez sur les fruits noirs et la menthe poivrée, tannin velouté avec ce qu’il faut de fermeté et finale de bonne longueur qui exprime la force des beaux cabernets. C’est déjà très bon.

Der von sandig-kiesigen Böden stammende Benjamin de Beauregard besteht überwiegend aus Merlot. Das frische Bouquet verfehlt nicht, den Einfluss des Cabernet Franc zu betonen, auch wenn er weitgehend in der Minderheit ist. Der Wein ist schlank im Auftakt und gewinnt langsam an Breite. Seine etwas straffen Tannine werden sich während des Ausbaus abrunden. Ein Wein, der in seiner Jugend genossen werden kann.

Chocolate, flowers, black cherries, plums, spice, truffle, and licorice nuances open the nose. On the palate, the wine is soft, polished, fresh, dark, and chewy, with chalky, dark red pit fruits, along with touches of orange rind, espresso, and cocoa on the backend. Give this just a few years, and it will be fully ready-to-go. The wine blends 74% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc, and 8% Cabernet Sauvignon. Drink from 2027-2042. 13.5% ABV. 92-94 Pts.

The 2023 Beauregard is a sleek, racy Pomerol. Spice, new leather and floral top notes meld into a core of dark-toned fruit. This is the second year in which the wine includes a portion of Cabernet Sauvignon planted in 2006. Firm tannins make themselves felt on the sustained finish.

Dark ruby, deep core, purple reflections, brightening on the edge. Fresh cherries, nuances of plums, candied orange zest, floral touch. Medium body, balanced, red berryish fruit, fine tannins, good freshness, nougat in the finish, good ageing poten- tial.

This is very tight, transparent and sleek. Medium body, very fine tannins and a racy, bright finish. The tannins are so refined and polished. 74% merlot, 20% cabernet franc and 6% cabernet sauvignon. From organically grown grapes.
