Alto de Cantenac Brown - Bordeaux 2024
AltO de Cantenac Brown, a white wine for Gastronomical table
Cantenac Brown's emblem is its spectacular Tudor-style château. It is a testament to the Scottish origins of its founder, John-Lewis Brown. The 60 hectares of vines surrounding it are spread over the prestigious plateaus of Margaux and Cantenac.
In 2011, the family expands with the addition of a new white wine, AltO de Cantenac Brown. Their terroir made of clay and calcareous soil is cool enough to produce a fine white wine. The white vines cover 1.80 hectares and are planted with Sauvignon blanc (90%) and Semillon (10%) for a production of only 7,000 to 8,000 bottles a year.
AltO de Cantenac Brown is a wine of nice minerality, beautiful aromas, and a wine for Gastronomical table. Elegant and delicate, AltO pays hommage to the art of music, while at the same time complimenting the entire Cantenac Brown gamut of wines. A perfect addition !
The 2024 vintage
The 2024 vintage is shaping up to be a great success for white wines. Despite a year of contrasting weather — a rainy spring followed by a dry summer with cool nights — the grapes maintained their freshness and vibrant aromas. Thanks to the constant care of the growers, the harvest produced clean, balanced, and expressive wines. Sauvignon Blanc, along with Sémillon and a touch of Sauvignon Gris, brings freshness, bright fruit, and lively energy on the palate.
2024 has given rise to a luminous vintage, offering wines that are fresh, balanced, and particularly appealing.
