Château d’Aiguilhe is a wine that perfectly encapsulates the terroir of Castillon. Its distinctive limestone flavor strikes the palate like a hammer but softens smoothly as it lingers. Along with delicate powdery tannins, the 2022 vintage also presents a rich and intricate bouquet,where the bold scents of cherry-soaked wine and licorice blend beautifully. I can already envision the bright future as it matures.

The 2022 Château D'Aiguilhe brings more of everything, with a gorgeous nose of black raspberries, crushed stone, spring flowers, and violets that opens up beautifully with air. This carries to a medium to full-bodied effort delivering ripe, polished tannins, a seamless mouthfeel, and a great, great finish.

Le Sauvignon Blanc sait se tenir, ça, ce n'est pas nouveau, mais celui-ci se profile avec élégance et subtilité, ce qu’il doit à des choix pertinents (choix de clones, élevage en cuve) et, de surcroît, les sols calcaires y sont certainement pour quelque chose ! Rafraîchissantes nuances d'anis, de citronnelle et de verveine. Légèrement salin en attaque, le vin est sapide, même tannique et, surtout, parfaitement équilibré. Un vin de caractère ! 2032 92/100

The 2022 d'Aiguilhe has a tightly wound bouquet featuring blackberry, briar and crushed stone scents. This demands some coaxing from the glass. The palate is medium-bodied, fresh and sapid, with crisp tannins. This is quite a "strict," well balanced Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux, with a Left Bank-like finish. It's quite cool for the vintage, but I appreciate the tension.

A firm and tight red with blackberries, crushed stones, ink and iodine. Medium-bodied with medium tannins that are polished and very pretty. Refined and delicious. Always an excellent value. Drinkable now, but will age nicely.

The 2022 d'Aiguilhe is plump, juicy and super-expressive. At the same time, it has plenty of energy and the underlying structure to support a number of years in the cellar. Bright chalky notes extend the finish.

Rich and intense nose, concentrated with dark bramble fruits. A shot of sharp intense strawberry and raspberry fruit hits the palate, super succulent and instantly mouthwatering, quite lean and linear though there is a nice expansion of fruit flavours while the tannins stay quite firm and straight. Touching on austere and severe but the softly plump juiciness keeps this enjoyable and there is layering of elements. Acidity is on the prominent side but this is quite captivating with crunchy, bright, just-ripe red fruits and chalky texture on the finish. Yield: 35 hl/ha. 30% new oak barrels.

Château d'Aiguilhe is a wine that perfectly embodies the unique Castillon terroir, its distinct limestone flavor hitting the palate like a heavy hammer, yet becoming soft and supple upon landing on the tongue. In the 2022 vintage, in addition to the delicate powder-like tannins, the aromas are also quite rich, with a fascinating combination of cherry liqueur and licorice. I already saw a bright future for aging.

The 2022 Château d'Aiguilhe has a relatively light bouquet with airy red fruit, orange pith and delicate undergrowth scents that emerge with time in the glass. The palate is sweet and tart on the entry, with fine tannins, moderate depth and a nicely balanced finish. This Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux should age nicely in bottle. 14.3% alcohol.

Heavy clay soils before you hit limestone here, and the wine delivers unusual levels of sappy, pummice stone, juicy austerity for the vintage. Almost a granite edge to the tannins, floral aromatic intensity, bring blue and red fruits, and subtle spices of dill, sage and saffran. Excellent quality and value. 35hl/h yield, 30% new oak.

The 2022 d'Aiguilhe is composed of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc, aging in 30% new oak. It has a pH of 3.4 and yields were 35 hl/ha. Deep garnet-purple in color, it comes bounding out of the glass with eager to please scents of black cherries, warm blackberries, and raspberry coulis, followed by hints of licorice, crushed rocks and iron ore. The medium to full-bodied palate delivers amazing tension with nice ripe rounded tannins to support the generous fruit, finishing long and chalky.

Le bouquet d'Aiguilhe révèle beaucoup de fruits noirs et des nuances crayeuses ainsi que des notes d'épices douces complétées par une touche de réglisse. En bouche, le vin a du corps et une belle tension qui contrecarre le côté généreux. Agréable salinité en fin de bouche ce qui a pour effet de "booster" la finale. Un vin salivant, juteux que l'on pourra approcher dans sa jeunesse, mais il dispose d'un excellent potentiel de garde.

Another killer Castillon in the vintage, the 2022 Château D'Aiguilhe is loaded with notions of black raspberries, ripe cherries, spicy oak, and chalky minerality. It tastes like a great Saint-Emilion and is medium to full-bodied, has fine tannins, and terrific overall balance.

Dark pit fruits, blackberries, flowers, and cocoa create the nose. The wine is medium-bodied, soft, sweet, polished and fresh. On the medium-bodied palate, the fruits are ripe, sweet and long, leaving you with a touch of salty chalk on the back end of the creamy finish. The wine is made from 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc. 14.3% ABV. Drink from 2025-2038.
