The medium to deep garnet-purple colored 2016 Vrai Canon Bouché gives up bold black cherries, warm plums and redcurrant jelly scents with hints of cardamom, cedar chest and red roses. Medium-bodied, the palate has appealing freshness and restraint with a delicately chewy frame and savory finish.

Superficie de 8ha sur sol argilo-calcaire. Taille en Guyot-double, ce que l'on ne voit pas tous les jours dans le bordelais. L'élevage dure 16 mois dans 30% de barriques neuves, le restant étant constitué de barriques d'un et deux vins. Les vendanges se sont réparties sur 9 jours entre le 11 et le 20 octobre 2016. Je trouve le bouquet de Vrai Canon Bouché très typé Bordeaux, très classique et, surtout, très agréable ! Je ne manque pas de souligner la complexité et la fraîcheur grâce à une agréable minéralité et des baies noires. Au palais, le vin est fin, élégant et parfaitement équilibré. Ses tannins sont bien intégrés et en harmonie avec la structure qui soutient le fruit et la fraîcheur. Un vin désaltérant et rafraîchissant. Good Glou-Glou ! 2021-2034 90/100

A blend of Merlot and Cabernet Franc brought up in 50% new barrels, the floral, spicy, incredibly complex 2016 Château Vrai Canon Bouché offers vibrant acidity that’s balanced nicely by depth of fruit. Black cherries, blueberries, violets, and some candle wax notes all emerge from the glass. It's going to benefit from short-term cellaring and keep for a decade or more.

Dark currant and cherry fruit flavors are lined with bramble accents and backed by juicy acidity in this red. There's a nice snap of tobacco on the finish, along with a modicum of dark toast notes. Drink now through 2028. 4,583 cases made. –JM

The 2016 Vrai Canon Bouché has developed into a rich, powerful wine. Savory herbs, leather, chocolate, menthol and licorice struggle to emerge from a swath of big tannins. Time in bottle should help somewhat. Even so, this extracted style feels a bit for [score too high?]

The Vrai Canon Bouché is a terrific Canon-Fronsac. Dark red and black fruit leather, tobacco and menthol are nicely delineated throughout. There is good energy to the flavors here, not to mention plenty of drive, much of that probably coming from the high proportion (40 percent) of Cabernet Franc in the blend. Simon Blanchard consults.
