Vik - Valle de Cachapoal 2022
VIK, the first Chilean cru of the Cachapoal Valley.
Created by Alex and Carrie VIK, the vineyard was born amidst the foothills of the Andes mountains, within the Millahue Valley: 4,300 hectares of astonishing Chilean wilderness where they planted over 327 hectares of vines. Holism is the concept that best reflects the VIK spirit. It is the perfect union of humans and nature as an integrated whole and Cristian Vallejo, Vik's chief winemaker, is considered as a "terroir purist".
VIK, a new expression of Cabernet: finesse, elegance, complexity, intensity, length and freshness, unique characteristics that all together level up to extraordinary. VIK is a remarkable visionary Bordeaux style blend.

The 2022 vintage
A cold year, a bold wine
The 2022 vintage was shaped by one of the coldest spring-summer cycles in two decades, leading to an uncommonly elegant wine with vibrant, precise tannins and a mineral-driven structure that showcases tension, purity, and freshness.
Tasting notes:
Aromas: Rich layers of blackberries, ripe red fruits, fine liquorice, graphite, soft spices, and cassis.
Palate: Silky yet structured, with fine-grained tannins and impeccable balance. Its acidity energizes the wine, giving it lift and long-lasting length. A full mid-palate and persistent finish make every sip memorable.
