This has a nice fresh edge to the mix of damson plum and bitter cherry coulis notes, while leather, tobacco and savory hints fill in the background. Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. Best from 2023 through 2033. 10,480 cases made, 1,000 cases imported.

The 2020 La Vieille Cure is fabulous. Rich and sumptuous in the glass, the 2020 offers up a heady mélange of black cherry, mocha, licorice, plum, incense and chocolate. There's gorgeous depth and texture here. The 2020 is a superb Vieille Cure.

The 2020 La Vieille Cure offers ripe blueberry and cassis scents on the nose, a little opaque and perhaps just lacking the complexity of the top performing Fronsacs. The palate is medium-bodied with a creamy entry, slightly lower acidity than its peers with a hard, obdurate finish. Just trying a bit too hard to impress. Tasted twice with consistent notes.

nouveau. Et, croyez-moi, j'espère complètement me tromper ;-) 2024-2030

Pure aromas with some chalky notes, wild berries, fine nuance and discreet oak and toast, voluminous with rounded tannin and long silky finish.

Deep purple-black in color, the 2020 La Vieille Cure storms out of the glass with powerful notions of plum preserves, blueberry pie and baker's chocolate, followed by suggestions of star anise, ground cloves and eucalyptus. The medium to full-bodied palate is jam-packed by rich, ripe black and blue fruits, backed up by firm, grainy tannins and plenty of freshness, finishing long and opulent.

The 2020 La Vieille Cure is a standout. Racy and succulent to the core, it’s a total pleasure bomb. Inky dark red/purplish fruit, mocha, spice, cedar and leather build in the glass as the 2020 shows off its curvy, succulent personality. A gorgeous wine. Don't miss it.

The 2020 La Vieille Cure offers plenty of black fruit intermingling with dark chocolate and leathery notes on the nose. The palate is medium-bodied with crunchy black fruit, mint and a touch of menthol toward the high-toned finish that will need to calm down during élevage. Maybe this Fronsac is trying a little too hard?

New owners for a few years now at La Vieille Cure, and it continues to be one of the go-to names in the appellation. This is a little closed down right now, the oaking a little evident, but the big berry fruits charm their way in after a few moments, as do charred cedar notes and grippy tannins. Enjoyable and confident and overall one of the Fronsacs that is tasting great.

With a bit too much oak on the nose, the wine moves to its ripe, plush, lush, forward mid-palate and a finish packed with layers of blackberry, plum, chocolate covered cherry and espresso. Give this a few years for the oak to better integrate and this should be good to go. 91-93

Tiefdunkles Rubingranat, opaker Kern, violette Reflexe, zarte Randaufhellung. Feiner Edelholztouch, schwarze Kirschen, feine Nuancen von Waldbeeren, kandierte Or- angenzesten unterlegt. Saftig, zart nach Pflaumen, integrierte Tannine, mineralisch, zart salziger Nachhall.

Comme souvent à ce stade, le vin se montre un peu serré. C’est pourtant une belle promesse tant on distingue nettement sa belle intensité et sa finale marquée par les 30 % de cabernet franc.
