Vérité - La Joie - Sonoma Valley 2019
Vérité La Joie, the finest expression of Cabernet-Sauvignon
The wines of Vérité, French for “truth,” are the result of a combination of old-world experience and new world fruit. Jess Jackson (1930–2011) was already the founder of one of the most successful family-owned wine companies in the United States when he met Pierre Seillan during a visit to France in the 1990s. When Pierre Seillan visited California in 1997, he saw the potential and did not hesitate when Jackson asked him to come to Sonoma County to realize this dream together. And so, Vérité was born.
Vérité La Joie was inspired by the finest wines from the Pauillac region of Bordeaux. La Joie is derived from a layered concentration of Cabernet Sauvignon vines grown along the steep hillsides and volcanic benches of the Mayacamas Mountains. Vigneron Pierre Seillan tends to a mosaic of more than fifty micro-crus to produce the complex signature of La Joie.
2019 Vintage

“2019 represents a classically balanced season from our Sonoma County vineyards, and the resulting wines show a stunning combination of generous fruit with ample structure. While showing precociously beautiful in their youth, they will reward patient cellaring with decades of pleasure, and I hope you will enjoy them in good health, for many years to come”. – Pierre Seillan, Vigneron
2019 La Joie shows a rich core of black-violet concentration. The fruit aromatics are fresh and vibrant, with black currant & black plum compote. The palate illustrates the power and suppleness of the 2019 vintage, lending a purity and sweetness to each of the flavors described. The texture is balanced by tannins evocative of dark baking cocoa and robust acidity, both of which lead to a long, persistent finish.
