A minerally red with blueberry and blackberry character. Stones, too. Medium body, fine tannins and a crisp finish. Layered and pretty. Second wine of Gruaud-Larose. Better in 2017.

The second wine of Gruaud Larose has a straightforward bouquet with dark plum and just a touch of brine. The palate is nicely balanced and unpretentious with well-judged acidity and a sedate, forward, caressing finish that is nicely composed. Tasted April 2013.
