Petit Mouton - Pauillac 2022
Petit Mouton, a great "second" wine
Since the 1993 vintage, Le Petit Mouton de Mouton Rothschild is the second wine of Château Mouton Rothschild and is produced from an exceptional terroir. Made with grapes from a selection of young vines in the illustrious First Growth vineyard, it benefits from the same attention that its elder brother.
In order to link the second wine more closely with its famous elder Baroness Philippine de Rothschild has chosen a label inspired by a drawing of the famous poster artist Jean Carlu. It is a true reflection of the style of the wine: the powerfully coloured drawing combines sensual shape with the clean geometries of the Art Deco style. It was made in 1927, following the artist’s design in the same period for the label for Château Mouton Rothschild 1924.

Tasting notes
Deep and dense, Le Petit Mouton de Mouton Rothschild 2022 reveals remarkably intense aromas, as black cherry and blackcurrant mingle with a touch of vanilla reminiscent of confectionery. Beautifully harmonious, it evokes fleshy, juicy and attractively fresh fruit. A silky, creamy structure underlines the wine’s richness and generosity, uplifted by smoky, graphite and chocolate notes. The luscious finish lingers long on liquorice stick notes.
