The 2020 Moulin Haut-Laroque did not really rock my world in barrel. Now in bottle, it has improved on the nose, gaining more clarity with simple brambly black fruit and just an undercurrent of greenness. The palate is medium-bodied with coarse tannins, touches of black olive infusing the black fruit but it feels short on the finish.

This has aromas of mulberries, blackberries, hazelnuts and violets. Full-bodied, with firm and compact tannins. Plenty of weight and depth. I like the blue fruit and floral character. 65% merlot, 20% cabernet franc, 10% cabernet sauvignon and 5% malbec. Drink from 2026.

The 2020 Moulin Haut-Laroque has a deep purple-black color, revealing notes of stewed black plums, blackberry pie and fruitcake, plus hints of tapenade and woodsmoke. The medium to full-bodied palate gives a good amount of black fruit preserves and savory flavors with a slight chewiness to the texture and soft acidity, finishing on a stewed tea note.

The 2020 Moulin Haut-Laroque is so promising. Inky dark fruit, chocolate, spice, new leather, licorice and mocha all meld together in this unctuous, undeniably sexy Fronsac. In a decidedly flamboyant style, with all the elements harmoniously balanced. Tasted two times.

The 2020 Moulin Haut-Laroque comes across a little stewed on the nose. The palate is very ripe with chewy tannins and feels a tad cloying on the finish at the moment.

Confidently and deftly put together but needs time, and be aware of its powerful slightly biting attack. The tannins build up quickly, and it is full with concentrated cassis fruits with a brush of bitterness on the finish.

The first thing you notice is the strong floral bouquet followed by incense, espresso bean, spice and an array of plums on the nose. Medium-bodied, soft, round, elegant and fresh, the wine finishes with silky textured black plums. This should deliver pleasure for at least 12-15 years. 91-93

Dark purple colour with violet hue and black core. Refined yet powerful nose with aroma reminiscent of blackberries, mulberries and black cherries, discreet floral hints in the background. Subtle oak and elegant spiciness. On the palate well balanced with well structured body, freshness and silky tannins, a very pleasant wine with spice flavour and juicy fruit in the appealing finish.

Couleur presque noire. Nez intense, au fruité mûr, truffé et épicé. Bouche pulpeuse à souhait, sur un corps à la fois élancé et velouté, qui garde longtemps son très beau toucher. Il s’achève long, sèveux, sur un grain fin et même parfumé. Un vrai caractère. C’est très bon. Assemblage : 70 % merlot, 20 % cabernet franc, 8 % malbec, 2 % cabernet sauvignon. Degré d’alcool : 14°8 – pH : 3,7. Rendement : 29,5 hl/ha.
