Le château Marsau occupe un des points hauts du terroir des côtes-de-francs, constitué ici de calcaire sur argiles profondes, sur lequel s'épanouit le merlot, cépage unique de ce vin. Sa robe est chatoyante, son bouquet sutil évoque les fruits bien mûrs dès l'attaque évoluent avec puissance, mais aussi avec harmonie et équilibre. Une bouteille hors du commun, à ouvrir entre connaisseurs dans trois à huit ans.

One of the Cotes de Francs’ leading properties, Marsau is a seriously-maintained vineyard run by the president of Dourthe, Jean-Marie Chadronnier. Transcending its pedigree, the 2003 offers notes of plums, blueberries, flowers, and toasty, smoky oak. Medium-bodied, lush, opulent, and surprisingly concentrated as well as persistent, this is a hedonistic wine to drink over the next 5-8 years

The robust 2003 exhibits silky tannin, loads of glycerin and concentrated fruit, mocha, black cherry, and berry aromas as well as flavors, surprising opulence, and a heady, rich finish. While this sleeper of the vintage may not last beyond a decade, it is a beauty to enjoy over the next 8-9 years. Marsau is producing the sexiest, most sumptuous wine in the Cotes de Francs. It is a testament to the perfectionism of its proprietor, Jean-Marie Chadronnier.

A sleeper of the vintage, this primarily Merlot-dominated offering is made by Jean-Marie Chadronnier, one of the most articulate spokespeople for Bordeaux. His small estate is the reference point for the Cotes de Francs, producing an opulent, Pomerol-styled effort possessing a deep ruby/purple color, a huge, fragrant, floral and berry-scented bouquet, loads of texture, and an expansive finish displaying tremendous purity as well as intensity. Drink this seductive, low acid 2003 during its first 8-10 years of life. Very impressive!
