The 2015 Château Laroze seemed a little disjointed when I tasted the barrel sample, the aromas hemmed in by its youth. The palate is rather raw on the entry with bitter cherry and a lot of oak tannin dominating the finish. This property can sometimes produce good Saint Émilion, however, not the best in class this year, I'm afraid.

True to its more forward style with the benefit of the vintage. Aromatically fresh, open and expressive. Delicious fruit on the palate. Lighter weight and frame but good depth of fruit and harmonious. 2019-2030

The 2015 Laroze is an attractive, open-knit Saint-Emilion to drink in its youth, while the fruit remains vibrant. Floral and savory notes add shades of nuance. The tannins could use a bit more polish. Otherwise, this is a solid effort.

Sweet oak, plenty of juicy primary cassis fruit and a strong liquorice finish. Loads of flavour here and bold but balanced tannin. Astutely made – very deliberate and powerful. Drying finish. Deserves time. (RH) Drink 2020-2030

Couleur rouge sombre intense et belle. Nez fruité, un peu discret, mais pur et frais. Ample à l'attaque, juteux au développement, savoureux, assez gras, le vin évolue moelleux entre le milieu et la finale tout en se tramant finement, c'est long, très bon, sans angle et avec une touche parfumée. Assemblage 65 % merlot, 28 % cabernet franc et 7 % cabernet sauvignon.

Dunkles Granat, recht satt in der Mitte, rubiner Rand. Recht viel Druck mit schöner Würze und reifen rotbeerigen Fruchtnoten im Bouquet zeigend. Im Gaumen mittelgewichtig, gut stützende Tannin-Muskelverbindung, hat Charakter. In 10 Jahren ein Dekantierwein. 17/20 2024 – 2041
