Tasting notes - 2021 vintage

Château Larmande 2021 shows a nose full of raspberry and red fresh fruits. In the mouth the wine is full-bodied, with elegance and a nice expression of the fruits. Long and sapid wine.

The 2021 Larmande is a floral, delicate Saint-Émilion. Crushed red berry fruit, spice, mint, rose petal and a kiss of French oak all grace this super-expressive, open-knit 2021. All the elements are so well balanced.

The 2021 Larmande has turned out well in bottle, wafting from the glass with notes of raspberries, rose petals and plums, followed by a medium to full-bodied, supple and suave palate that's layered and seamless, with a vibrant and enveloping core of fruit, ripe tannins and a perfumed finish.

Smooth, harmonious, plummy and mulberry-soaked, this is a lovely wine already, and there is a decent density of flavour, and the tannins are not too dry or severe. There is complexity here, too, making this a delicious Larmande and one with a promising future, too. 17.5

A tight and focused red with plum and cherry character, medium body, fine tannins and a dried-orange finish. Lightly salty.

The 2021 Château Larmande is another silky, medium-bodied, solidly balanced barrel sample with mid-weight aromas and flavors, ripe, moderate tannins, good balance, and a good finish. It shows the more red-fruited, spicy, floral style of the vintage and will drink well right out of the gate.

Profil de vin caressant, pour son toucher de tannin soyeux qui donne déjà du plaisir avec une finale florale distinguée.

Here, the nose is a bit more interesting, with all of its layers of black and red fruits, smoke, espresso, mint and tobacco leaf. Slightly austere on the palate, making this quite classic in style. Give it a few years to develop and hopefully, soften and fan out. The wine blends 91% Merlot, 7% Cabernet Franc and 2% Cabernet Sauvignon. Drink from 2025-2039. 88-91

The 2021 Larmande has a pretty, pure bouquet with red cherries, wild strawberry and rose petal scents. The oak is neatly integrated. The palate is medium-bodied with fine grain tannins, simple and light, yet balanced and fresh.

The 2021 Larmande exhibits aromas of plums, berries and petals, followed by a medium-bodied, velvety and polished palate that's seamless, succulent and charming, concluding with a promisingly penetrating finish. This 20-hectare vineyard on Saint-Émilion's north slope has delivered a fine performance this year. (89 - 91)+
