Displaying a deep garnet-purple color, the 2019 Haut Bergey offers up provocative notions of baked plums, crème de cassis and boysenberries with suggestions of wilted roses, camphor, tilled soil and crushed rocks plus a waft of cinnamon stick. The medium-bodied palate is elegantly played with savory sparks joining the juicy black fruit flavors, framed by grainy tannins and finishing with a refreshing lift.
