Fugue de Nénin - Pomerol 2009

The Fugue de Nenin is a delicious, soft, finesse-styled Pomerol with elegant mulberry, plum, cherry fruit. Dark ruby, with a hint of spring flowers, it is best drunk over the next decade.

Lots of blackberries, with dark chocolate on the nose. Full body with soft and velvety tannins and a delicious finish. The second wine of Nenin. Better in 2014.

Robe sombre. Nez fruits noirs, un peu d’épice. En bouche, bouche souple et ronde, joli moelleux, petite fraîcheur en plus, 81 % merlot, 19 % cabernet-franc.

(a blend of 81% merlot and 19% cabernet franc; 13.9% alcohol; 20% new oak) Medium-dark ruby. Pure, vibrant aromas and flavors of blackcurrant, blackberry syrup and smoky plum. Fresh on entry, then juicy, clean and nicely balanced, finishing long and satisfying, with high-quality tannins. The best-ever Fugue I can recall, and a wine that should provide plenty of early drinking appeal.

The 2009 Fugue de Nenin offers sweet fruit in a layered, lush style. A blend of 81% Merlot and 19% Cabernet Franc, it should be consumed during its first decade of life. (Tasted once.) Drink 2010-2020.

A lovely effort to enjoy for the next decade or more. Its saturated purple color proceeds to scorched earth, cherry, wet-earth, and stone scents. Tasty all around, with a full-body, rounded-edges, abundant cherry and mulberry, and sily-ripe tannins. This is concentrated wine! Maturity period 2012-2019.

Supergrapey and rich, with blackberry and mineral. Some licorice. Full-bodied, with juicy tannins and a pretty, grapey finish. Second wine of Nenin.

Very deep crimson. Very rich, voluptuous nose. Nice freshness and precision on the palate. Very luscious. A lot more successful than many grown-up Pomerol grands vins. Really zesty and plush and lovely. GV. Drink 2015-2023
