The 2020 Fourcas Hosten is laced with crushed flowers, spice, cedar and red berry fruit. There is good depth and persistence, but this is more aromatic and less juicy than many other wine. Dried rose petal, mint and sage linger on the precise, delineated finish, perked up by bright acids. Tasted two times.

The 2020 Fourcas Hosten displays very good intensity on a nose of ebullient blackberry, cedar and crushed violet scents that burst from the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp tannins. A slight herbaceous element lends freshness, and white pepper and graphite appear toward the grippy, almost sinewy finish. This is quite a bold Listrac that will require 4–5 years in bottle, but it comes across as cohesive and shows good cellaring potential.

Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2020 Fourcas Hosten sails out of the glass with vibrant scents of crushed blackberries, fresh blackcurrants and mulberries, plus suggestions of raspberry leaves, powdered cinnamon and lavender with a touch of tilled soil. The medium-bodied palate is refreshing and softly textured, delivering lively black and red berry flavors and a refreshing herbal lift on the finish.

Très beau nez de fruits noirs frais, de fleurs, de cassis avec une pointe épicée. Très belle gestion du bois. Moyennement dense et bien équilibrée, la bouche est suave, légèrement tannique et finit par une belle allonge. Très frais.
