Plenty of green-apple and pear aromas with vanilla and cream undertones. Kiwi, too. Medium to full body with oily character and a fruity undertone. Hints of vanilla and crushed stone. Flavorful finish. Second wine of Domaine de Chevalier. 65% sauvignon blanc and 35% semillon. Needs two or three years to come together. Better after 2024.

The 2019 L' Esprit de Chevalier Blanc exhibits notes of citrus zest, white flowers, green apple and wet stones, followed by a medium-bodied, elegantly textural palate that's chalky and precise. This is a fine effort that reflects the quality of Domaine de Chevalier, its big brother. I suspect that with a decade on the clock it will surprise many in a blind tasting.

The 2019 L’Esprit de Chevalier Blanc has a fresh nose of oyster-shell-tinged citrus fruit and a very faint hint of chai. The palate is well balanced, offering superb delineation and depth, flavors of green apple mixed with nectarine and wild peach, and a persistent finish. Excellent.

Blended of 65% Sauvignon Blanc and 35% Semillon, the 2019 L' Esprit de Chevalier Blanc was harvested from the 3rd of September to the 19th of September. The alcohol is 13.5%. It is aging on its lees in French oak barrels, 33% new, for an anticipated 10 months. The nose needs a little swirling to reveal pure, clean notions of Bosc pears, ripe yellow apples and green mango with hints of lime zest and fresh pineapple. Medium-bodied, the palate has invigorating freshness with some citrus notes lifting the tropical fruit flavors on the finish.
