Couhins 2019 is lingering and penetrating Sauvignon Blanc. The slight reductive aromas create a mysterious atmosphere from the beginning. The scent of grapefruit peel and lemon peel are accompanied by a hint of acacia blossoms; inside the mild palate, I can also feel a scent of Limestone soil's iconic saltiness. This steel-like minerality runs through the whole body, making the wine body robust, powerful, and long-lasting. The vintage of 2019 is definitely a masterpiece for Couhins's white wine. Perfumed nose of jasmine, lemons, mangoes, anise and cedar. It’s medium-to full-bodied with vibrant acidity and a polished, creamy palate. Drink now or hold.

A rock-solid white, the 2019 Château Couhins Blanc is up-front and fruit-forward, with juicy peach, pineapple, and honeyed grapefruit as well as some subtle spicy, mineral nuances. Medium to full-bodied on the palate, this textured, pure, balanced white is ideal for drinking over the coming 4-5 years.

A fine effort, the 2019 Couhins Blanc offers up aromas of crisp orchard fruit, white flowers, nectarine, citrus oil and fresh mint, followed by a medium to full-bodied, fleshy and precise palate with racy acids and a saline, attractively grippy finish. This modestly priced white Bordeaux would embarrass many grander names in a blind tasting.

The 2019 Couhins Blanc is so elegant in the way it balances textural richness and energy. Orchard fruit, lemon peel, dried flowers and expressive saline notes are beautifully delineated. At times, the Blanc feels weightless, and yet there is plenty of depth.

A blend of 93% Sauvignon Blanc and 7% Sauvignon Gris, the 2019 Blanc comes in at 14% alcohol and is being aged on the lees in French oak barrels, 15% new, for approximately 10 months. After giving the glass a few vigorous swirls, the nose comes out to play with ripe, opulent scents of golden delicious apples, freshly sliced peaches and pink grapefruit with touches of allspice, honeysuckle and paraffin wax. The medium-bodied palate is chock-full of expressive apple and stone fruit flavors with loads of spicy nuances and just enough freshness, finishing on a yeasty note.

The 2019 Couhins Blanc is a suave, elegant wine. Soft contours play off nicely the bright Sauvignon Blanc aromatics. Orchard fruit, sage, lemon peel and crushed rocks all lift effortlessly from the glass. The 2019 finishes with terrific resonance and substance.

The 2019 Château Couhins Blanc showed nicely, offering juicy notes of nectarines and mandarin orange, as well as a medium-bodied, racy style on the palate. It shows the soft, forward style of the whites from the vintage, and while I suspect it won't be the longest-lived white, it should still evolve nicely for 4-6 years.

The 2019 Couhins Blanc has a pretty, light bouquet of white flowers mixed with lemon rind, a light leesy note in the background. The palate is well balanced, quite rounded in the mouth with just the right amount of acidity to offset the tropical notes of pineapple and mango. Good tension here, a fine white Pessac-Léognan that should not be overlooked.

Bright, lifted citrus, green apple and a hint of yellow tropical fruit really pops here. On the palate, it gets even better with all that fresh-squeezed yellow citrus fruit. 91-93 Pts

A tangy, fresh white with minerals, sliced lemons and green apples. Medium-bodied, racy and linear. Good energy here.
