This is always an impressive white, with a lengthy, layered and compact palate. Lots of dried lemon, clove, fennel, green-apple and cedar. Flint and toast, too. Medium to full body. INcredible long. 70% sauvignon blanc and 30% semillon.

I always love the white from this estate, and they've certainly hit a home run in 2021. Based on 75% Sauvignon and 25% Semillon that will see 18 months in 35% new barrels, it offers a vibrant, vivid bouquet of ripe limes, crushed citrus, and chalky minerality, which turns more salty and subtly marine-influenced on the palate. With terrific concentration, medium-bodied richness, and a great finish, it's one of the focused, pure, racy whites that still brings density and depth. Bravo.

Domaine de Chevalier's white wine is amazing this year, with a fresh, gentle, oily, and delicate palate that is so balanced against the refreshing acidity. The most overwhelming character is the sudden burst of powerful energy on the palate, like a huge tsunami rising from the sea, quite powerful yet majestic. From my experiences with Domaine de Chevalier white wines, I must say that it is rare to find such a wonderful one as the vintage of 2021. On the palate, the wine is perfectly balanced between its lush, creamy character and blazing acidity. The fruit shows a gorgeous purity and the seamless finish builds, expands lingers. Clearly, this is a contender for one of the best, if not the best vintage of Domaine de Chevalier Blanc ever produced! Drink this young for its youthful exuberance, or age it for more secondary development. The wine blends 75% Sauvignon Blanc and 25% Semillon, 13.5% ABV. The 2021 Domaine de Chevalier Blanc, picked September 13–23 at 40hL/ha, has a captivating, complex bouquet of yellow flowers, white peach, wet limestone and just a faint hint of elderflower in the background. The taut palate is well-balanced with a superb line of acidity. Conveying tangible energy from start to finish, this builds in the mouth toward a persistent finish that fans out gloriously. One of the best Domaine de Chevalier whites that I have tasted in 20-plus years.

The 2021 Domaine de Chevalier Blanc has quite a bit of textural depth and resonance, but at the same time, I feel the energy level here is a bit low. Lemon confit, almond, sage, chamomile and white flowers caress the palate. I like the depth, but wish there was more vibrancy.

Blasses Gelb. Intensive, vom Sauvignon geprägte Nase, exotische Früchte, Pfirsich, rauchige Noten, darüber florale Töne, unterlegt von einer steinig kühlen Mineralik. Im Gaumen cremig und weich im Auftakt, packt dann zu, top Struktur, feine Säure, das Holz ist sehr gut verpackt, ungemein druckvoll und mit enorm viel Länge hallt der Wein auf Passionsfrucht und Limetten nach, hinterlässt ein salziges Finale. Un peu timide, le nez évolue toutefois vers de très belles notes de fleurs de printemps, de verveine, de fruits blancs et d'épices nobles. Agréablement agrumes avec une légère aération. Bouche charnue, ronde, juteuse également pour un vin tout en velouté, en précision et en délicatesse. Une très grande bouteille en devenir. Bravo !

A rich honeyed apple and apricot nose with soft white blossom notes. So lifted and expressive on the palate, creamy lemon, pear, red apple and apricot. Gently round, this has a nice delicacy but also good weight - a refined palate with a soft creaminess. Easy to drink and enjoy with excellent structure and density for the vintage, you get enough acidity and texture to give a full mouthfeel without anything being too much or over the top but still with enough flavour that it's interesting and compelling. A top buy.
