I am impressed with the Dubourdieu range in general in 2022, and this is again a highly drinkable easy to approach wine, with slightly rustic tannins but sappy fruit that is ripe without being overdone.

66% Cabernet Sauvignon, 34% Merlot Clos Floridène se distingue par sa pluralité et sa profondeur, dès les premiers parfums. À l'instar du bouquet, le palais se démarque par son harmonie et par sa vigueur. Cette dernière est bien emballée par le tempérament qui ne manque pas de souligner la fraîcheur, même dans le contexte de 2022. Un vin sapide, équilibré, vigoureux et, surtout, élégant. 2027-2039 92/100

This red is medium-bodied, fresh and savory, with lightly chalky tannins. I like the fresh black-fruit, pencil-lead and black-olive aromas. Drink in 2026.

The 2022 Clos Floridène is powerful and dense but also a bit rough around the edges. Dark-toned fruit, leather, cedar and scorched earth all open with some coaxing, but the tannins remain rather brutish. Perhaps time in bottle will help a bit.

Quite tannic and serious, though with lively acidity as well as a lovely backbone of freshness and purity. Heavily spiced just detracting from the easy enjoyment to be had with liquorice, toast and clove lingering on the finish. Nicely fragrant and detailed but still packing a punch in terms of density and heft. Ageing in French oak for 12 months, 33% new.

The 2022 Clos Floridène has a pretty nose: redcurrant, cranberry and a touch of sous-bois. The palate is medium-bodied with a pleasant sappiness on the entry, nicely structured with a tobacco-tinged finish that needs to muster more finesse.

Gorgeous aromatics, this has focus and lift, and I love the clarity of citrus and pink grapefruit on the opening. Carefully balanced, with grip and slate freshness tasted out of the heat of the year. Lovely stuff from the Dubourdieu family.

Que de finesse, de subtilité, de pluralité dans le bouquet de Clos Floridène. Il révèle d'invitantes nuances de fraises, de framboises et de feuilles de menthe fraîche. Légèrement crémeuse, l'attaque annonce un vin élégant, harmonieux, soutenu par des tannins veloutés et porté par une structure acide salivante. Il doit un peu gagner en étoffe, mais il a le mérite d'être fin, juteux et fruité ! C'est déjà "pas mal" :-)

The 2022 Clos Floridène is a bold, pungent wine, with strong savory and gamy flavors I don't recall seeing in the past. I have to admit, the 2022 is a bit of a mystery. It has quite a bit of fruit density, but where it is headed is a bit unclear. Drinking window : 2025-2032
