Château Quintus - Saint-Emilion Grand Cru 2015

Château Quintus 2015 The wine has a beautiful dark garnet red color. The nose of the Quintus is at this stage a little closed. After a few moments in the glass, the magic of the aeration operates, revealing the complexity of the wine rich in aromas of red and black fruits, at the right maturity. When put in the mouth, the wine is supple, even creamy and tight at the same time. The tannic material is directly perceptible but it does not attack at any moment of the evolution of the wine. The mid-palate is well filled and the finish is quite long, with great taste. The powerful and tasty wine is also very elegant.

Très beau nez, dense, fruité avec une touche de cacao. Corps magnifique, élancé, séveux, doté d’une fraîcheur magnifique. Le vin est ciselé, précis, avec une grande énergie.

Jean-Philippe Delmas is clearly getting the hang of things at Quintus. With a deep ruby color, this wine combines elegance, freshness and purity of fruit. The tannins are refined, the textures are supple and there is no sensation of heat, even though the wine is quite high in alcohol. Produced from a blend of 76% Merlot and 24% Cabernet Franc, the harvest took place from September 23 to October 9. The wine reached 15.2% alcohol with a pH of 3.52.

The 2015 Château Quintus is a blend of 76% Merlot and 24% Cabernet Franc picked between 23 September and 9 October, matured in 37% new wood. It has an intense, lifted bouquet of violet-infused blueberry and blackberry fruit, very floral and vivacious. The palate is very well balanced with ripe, supple tannin that carry the pure black cherry and boysenberry fruit effortlessly. The acidity is very well judged and there is great precision towards the finish that leaves a residue of white pepper on the tongue. This is one of the most harmonious and complex Quintus that I have tasted since its debut in 2011, though it deserves 4-6 years in bottle to subsume those tannins.

The best yet from this newly created, Haut-Brion-owned estate (first vintage 2011). Full and fragrant with plenty of depth. Smooth, fresh and well defined, the palate showing greater precision. 2022-2035

Assurément le meilleur vin produit depuis la création, il est vrai très récente, de ce cru qui réunit les anciens l’Arrosée et Tertre Daugay. Profond, intense et de grande sève, le vin brille par son équilibre parfait et son soyeux de texture.

The 2015 Quintus wraps around the palate with serious depth and intensity. Dark cherry, plum, chocolate and spices are some of the signatures. Sumptuous, rich and full-bodied, the 2015 is a decidedly big wine, yet it also possesses terrific overall balance for the vintage.

Bordeaux 2015 - St-Émilion and satellites | Articles | JancisRobinson.com 76% Merlot, 24% Cabernet Franc. Picked 23 September to 9 October. Made by the new owners, sister property to Haut-Brion. Made up of slopes facing in several different directions, on the extreme west of the plateau with lots of different soil types too. Jean-Philippe Delmas admits that the learning curve has been steep, but 'it's a unique chance to play'. As a result of their various acquisitions, they can choose from two different chais (ex Chx Tertre Daugay and L'Arrosée) with two different sorts of vats - quel luxe!Dark and rich on the nose. Big and bold. A bit more chunky and structured than the Dragon, the second wine named after the 6m-high dragon on the property. Not as charming as the second wine at this stage. 93–95. Barrel Sample. Big, bold and juicy, this is a step up from previous vintages of this wine, owned by Haut-Brion. It has ripe tannins and concentration with spice and broad acidity. Black fruits go with the red fruit flavors to give a rich, generous wine.

Assemblage : 76 % merlot, 24 % cabernet franc.

Reine Potentialwertung. Der zu erwartende Spass liegt tiefer. 17/20 2020 – 2038

Crazy aromas of saffron, volcanic salt, hot stone, mushrooms, and wet earth. Then blueberry and blackberry undertones. Full body, super compressed and refined tannins. Powerful. Seamless and endless. 76% merlot and the rest cabernet franc.
