The nose on the Grand Vin is much more profound than on the second which is perhaps not surprising, but in this case it is, because Fugue is such a stellar creation. In the Grand Vin the fruit is darker and more reserved and the tannins are seriously profound. This is a wine which has been made to rival the greats and so for this reason there is no compromise nor any need to appeal at this stage to lovers of very juicy, forward wines. Superbly plush and noble, this is a fabulous wine and it is made with the intention of hitting every high note possible 18.5++
