A dense ruby/purple color is followed by seductive aromas of smoky dried herbs and jammy currants, and a rich, dense, layered, velvety-textured wine. The sumptuous attack narrows slightly in the mid-palate and finish, but this is a totally charming, well-balanced, pure beauty to consume over the next 12-15 years.

Subtle aromas of berries and cinnamon, with hints of fresh flowers. Medium- to full-bodied, with silky tannins and a lovely sweet fruit aftertaste. Nice wine from Giscours. Best after 2003. 25,000 cases made.

A deep ruby/purple color is followed by sweet, jammy plum, earth, licorice, herb, and blackberry aromas. While fat, fleshy, and concentrated, this 1999 has retained some of its Margaux-like elegance. It will be delicious when released next year. Anticipated maturity: now-2012.

This deep ruby/purple-colored, low acid, plump, captivating Giscours displays copious quantities of black fruits, a succulent mid-palate, and ripe, unobtrusive tannin in the moderately long finish. This elegant, richly fruit effort will provide ideal drinking during its first 10-14 years of life.
