Giscours is rich in a very ancient history dating back to the fourteenth century. A defensive dungeon then overlooked a wild and inhospitable countryside. In 1552, Pierre de Lhomme, a rich clothier from Bordeaux, bought the noble house of "Guyscoutz", formed around a vast estate and planted the very first vines. The wine-growing adventure was on the march, and the successors of our wealthy merchant could in their turn bring their stone to this formidable edifice. It was in the 19th century, under the impulse of the Promises, Pescatore and other Cruse, that Giscours adorned himself with his finest attires: transformation of the castle into a neoclassical palace, development of a park with rare species by the landscape designer Eugène Bülher, modernization of production tools with the construction of huge farm buildings, including the famous "Ferme Suzanne" ...
