Although reserved and shut down following bottling, the 2008 exhibits a dense plum/ruby/purple color, abundant tannin, an unmistakable minerality and a long finish despite its structured, backward, medium-bodied mouthfeel. Sweet blue and black fruits have to be coaxed from the glass. Cellar it for 5-7 years and enjoy it over the following 20-25. Drink 2016-2041

Solid and chunky, with firm tannins over the ripe black berry fruit. With its plentiful acidity and powerful tannins, this is going to be a long-term wine.

A tight and firm Canon with blueberry, chalk and cedar aromas. Full to medium body, firm and racy. A salty undertone in the aftertaste. Better in 2019 but already fascinating.

Kräftiges Rubingranat, violette Randaufhellung. In der Nase verhalten, feine Jeidelbeerfrucht, zart floral, mineralische Nuancen. Am Gaumen saftig, frische Weichselfrucht, Orangen, angenehme Extraktsüße, gut integrierte Tannine, schokoladiger Nachhall, gute Länge, vielseitgier Speisenbegleiter.

This appears to be the finest wine made under the relatively recent ownership of the Wertheimer brothers (who also own the haute couture house of Chanel). Sweet raspberry, blue fruit, crushed rock, and acacia flower characteristics are followed by a fresh, lively, full-bodied wine that offers an alliance of power, substance, and finesse. With good purity, texture, and length, this beauty will require patience as the tannins, while sweet and velvety, are noticeable. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2025.

Reserved on the nose: a Saint Emilion that does not want to give much away. A little dark cherry and bergamot, a touch of cedar wood – a hint of mulberry with time. The palate is medium-bodied, slightly furry tannins, spice, black cherries, a touch of boysenberry leading to a “correct”, linear finish. It needs to coalesce in barrel and doubtlessly it will given the pedigree of this estate. Tasted April 2009.

Distinctly blue tinge. Very rich and sweet with polished texture. Modern style but without exaggeration. Attractive leafy aroma and zest. Not that big a wine but a well balanced one. Should drink well. Drink 2012-18

Elegance is the Canon hallmark and this is a fitting example - as good if not better than the 2005. Fragrant red berry fruit nose. Fine, supple weight and texture. Long, fresh finish. Harmonious. Drink 2015-2028.

Fresh and floral, with berry and raspberry aromas. Medium- to full-bodied, with a solid core of ripe tannins and a licorice, berry and milk chocolate character. Displays a beautiful core of fruit.
