Rouge grenat dense. Très invitant ce bouquet qui se distingue par son aptitude à créer l'équilibre entre d'invitantes notes de chocolat et de rafraîchissantes nuances de baies rouges. En bouche le vin est compact et invitant. Il est doté de tannins parfaitement intégrés, en phase avec la structure acide. Celle-ci assure une belle intensité fruitée, jusqu'en finale. Très belle réussite.

Plenty of ripe Merlot-dominated autumnal fruits, with Pomerol charm and confidence. Certified organic since 2015 - a fact that is starting to gain traction in the market as there are surprisingly few certified organic Pomerols. This is a good option for early drinking. 20% new oak. The 2018 Beauregard has a fine bouquet with black fruit mixed with truffle and loamy aromas, although I would like more vigour. The palate is medium-bodied with chewy tannins, a little rustic in style with some bitterness towards the finish. Not bad, but I was hoping for more finesse from Beauregard this year.

Nez sur la prise de bois. Il se lit davantage en bouche avec un corps sphérique, charnu, d'une belle plénitude. Beaucoup de suavité mais avec un tanin fin qui le structure parfaitement. Belle finale.

Deep, dark fruit with licorice, coffee bean and a touch of fig along with black plums on the nose and palate produce the juice -- a wine that is round, plump and fruity. You will be able to drink this on the young side.

Viticulture at Beauregard is organic, as at the sister property Smith Haut Lafitte, but Beauregard only lost about 15% of the crop to mildew. Composed of 75% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Franc, the deep garnet-purple colored 2018 Beauregard develops slowly to reveal a core of blackberry compote, plum preserves and blueberry pie with touches of smoked meats, tobacco, baking spices, yeast extract and fragrant earth. Full, rich, velvety and packed with rich, expressive black fruit preserves, it has plenty of freshness, finishing long and spicy.

There is lots of density here but it shows a lovely supple side to the fruits with intense damson and black cherry alongside swirls of chocolate and a patisserie choux bun touch of gentle creaminess. A good job, and a wine that’s easy to approach with a build through the palate joined by layers of tannins that are a little deceptive. 3.77pH. Drinking Window 2026 - 2038
