Potensac Chapel - Château Potensac - Médoc 2015

Very favorable conditions in April and June allowed a very uniform bud burst and flowering in 2015. Then the hot and dry conditions of the summer ensured a complete degradation of the vegetable aromas as well as a hydrous constraint favorable to the thickening of the plants. dandruff and the rapid evolution of seeds. The veraison was also homogeneous thanks to rain episodes perfectly distributed. Finally, a good health condition was maintained until the end of the harvest thanks to the green work done throughout the vegetative cycle of the vine. Very favourable weather conditions in April and June, 2015, and the beginning of the year. The hot and dry summer is a complete breakout of the vegetal aromas as well as a welcome hydric stress, beneficial for the thickening of grape skins and a rapid maturation of the pips. The color change was also beautifully done by the regular rain showers. The careful thinning out and vine care during the growth cycle meant the bunches was perfectly healthy right through to the end of harvest-time

The 2015 Chapelle de Potensac, which should be released onto the market by the time this report is published, has a pretty bouquet with plenty of raspberry and crushed strawberry scents, a touch of leather and dried herbs coming through with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly firm tannin on the entry, simple brambly red berry fruit with cedar and tobacco taking over toward the easy-going finish. Drink over the next 4 or maybe 5 years. Anticipated maturity: 2019 - 2024.

The 2015 Chapelle de Potensac is pretty, fruity and delicious. Sweet red berry fruit and floral notes are nicely pushed forward in a delicate, gracious Merlot-based wine. This is a highly appealing second wine from Potensac.

Tight fruit flavours right now, coupled with some crab apple acidity. It has attractive floral touches, and it's focus on soft fruits makes it an early drinker. Aged in a combination of oak and stainless steel, with a low pH of 3.47.

The 2015 Chapelle de Potensac is a lovely second wine from Potensac, the Delon family's Haut-Médoc estate. Pliant and succulent, the 2015 is best enjoyed upon release, while the red stone fruit flavors retain their juiciness.

Barrel Sample. This wine is light with great freshness. It has a fine burst of black currant flavors that translate into crisp acidity. The tannins are just there. 89 points

The 2015 Chapelle de Potensac is a blend of 71% Merlot, 23% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot, matured in 10% new oak. It has a perfumed bouquet with blackberry, raspberry coulis and cold stone scents, powered by that ripe Merlot. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly edgy, grainy tannin, a keen line of acidity and an attractive, cedar-infused finish. Enjoy this deuxième vin over the next 6-8 years. Drink 2018-2027

With focussed, bright fruit and really clean lines, this is a huge success considering the amount of rainfall in the
northern Médoc. It was necessary to saignée a touch (15%) to concentrate this wine but the results are remarkable.
Forward, fruity and clean reflecting the great wine making, this is a very enjoyable wine.

Belle puissance tannique, expression limpide d'un fruit pur, séveux, racé, hautement parfumé.
