This is a beautifully fragrant and smooth white wine. Though its acidity is not particularly pronounced, it in no way detracts from its refreshing palate. Aged on lees, it boasts a rounded body, while new oak barrels introduce a captivating hazelnut aroma. On the palate, it’s like a delicate spoonful of snow fungus and lotus seed soup gently trembling on the tongue, with faint traces of tannin emerging in the background. While many white wines of 2022 vintage lean towards richness, this vintage of Cuvée Caroline, still maintains a ideal balance in a hot year.

Sauvignon, Sémillon Le bouquet de la Cuvée Caroline révèle des nuances d'élevage, mais elles sont rapidement relayées par des parfums d'agrumes, d'épices et de verveine. Légèrement salin attaque, le vin affiche une certaine largeur et est bien soutenu par une structure qui assure tempérament et fraîcheur, jusqu'en finale. Un vin sapide, harmonieux et ambitieux. On pourra le savourer dans sa jeunesse, mais il sera très intéressant de le suivre dans son évolution car il est doté d'un potentiel non négligeable ! 2025-2034 93/100

Opens with a hit of straw and spice, followed by apricot and poached pear, star anise, has character but impacted by the vintage. At Chantegive they picked early, before the intense heat returned in September. 34hl/h yield, from gravel, sand and limestone soils, 50% new oak for ageing, with regular lees stirring, low temperature fermentation never straying above 20C.

Marzipan and some oak spices to the lime and green stone fruit. Good substance on the mid-palate with a hint of vanilla and a subtle grip at the end. Sauvignon blanc and semillon. Better in one or two more years.

The 2022 Cuvée Caroline is laced with hints of apricot, white flowers, chamomile and spice. Vinification and aging in barrel helps build texture in this delicious and distinctive dry white. All the elements meld together gracefully.

Vibrant and lively, a good push of green and yellow citrus fruit, with gently mouthwatering acidity and some brightness as well as cool, crisp stony touches. Loses a little intensity and overt fruitiness. Keeps the focus but the structure takes over the friendliness. Still, feels well defined and weighty with grip and tension. HVE3 certified.

Delivers aromatics white flowers, and plenty of lemon curd and white peach fruits. Lacks some lift off compared to the recent exceptionally impressive vintages of this wine, but it has structure and confidence, and is always a safe bet in the Graves region. 50% new oak, with lees stirring. Subtil et complexe, le vin affiche de la profondeur, de la minéralité ainsi que d'invitantes nuances florales et fruitées. De bonne densité, le vin est encore marqué par son élevage, mais il est idéalement soutenu par sa structure et par des fins amers qui étirent sa finale. Un vin prometteur.
