Bright red-ruby.  Perfumed aromas of blackberry, licorice and spices.  Solidly built if a bit chunky, offering medicinal dark berry and spice flavors accented by a peppery quality.  A bit youthfully disjointed today, this wine will benefit from a few years of bottle aging. 88(+?) points

This is alluring, with the sappy feel of the kirsch, dark plum and loganberry fruit melded nicely to a charcoal spine. The long, smoldering finish reveals a singed iron note and features good grip. Should evolve nicely. Best from 2015 through 2030. –JM

A wine with dried meats and berries on the nose and palate. Full body, beautiful fine tannins and a juicy finish finish. Chewy tannins. Still needs time to come together. Try in 2016

Tasted at the UGC tasting in London. The Marquis de Terme has a very intense bouquet of blackberry, small dark cherries and a touch of cassis. There is an undertow of sous-bois and cedar. The palate is medium-bodied with a soft, seductive entry and plenty of fleshy red fruit laced with leather and tobacco. I would like to see a little more backbone on the finish, but this remains a very fine Margaux. Tasted November 2012.

The Marquis de Terme ’10 has a well-defined bouquet with ripe blackcurrant, cedar, boysenberry and a touch of shellfish. Good lift and focus. The palate is medium-bodied with fully ripe tannins, very good weight and acidity, quite linear at the moment but very harmonious and cohesive towards the finish. The oak seems to be totally in tune with the fruit, whereas in 2009 it was dancing to a slightly different beat. This is an excellent Marquis de Terme. Tasted April 2011.

The deep ruby 2010 Marquis de Terme offers up very attractive and complex aromas of bright dark red berries, cassis, cedar, plums and spices, followed by lovely flavours in the mid palate, firm acidity and very dense but ripe tannins. Despite its fresh floral and spicy character, this is a big wine with a long finish that needs to be kept for at least 10 years.

Very good depth of rich, slightly earthy fruit, ripeness of the Cabernet matched by a deep freshness of the tannins, always a broad-shouldered Margaux, good future. Drink 2016-30. (17 points)

This is tangy, with iron-driven cut through the core of lush plum, blackberry and cassis fruit. Long and silky, with nice latent depth. Really opens up. —J.M.
