Quel beau Blason ! Bravo à toute l'équipe. Maintenant - 2030 91/100

The 2016 L'Evangile Blason de l'Evangile is another brilliant second wine that delivers the goods. Showing a more upfront, fruit-loaded, opulent style, it gives up tons of cassis fruits, tobacco, incense, dried herbs, and graphite. With no hard edges, a full-bodied, rounded, sexy texture, and a great finish, it's a sexy, sexy Pomerol to drink over the coming 10-15 years, if not longer.

Direct and approachable, with a tobacco leaf frame around direct black currant and black cherry flavors, backed by a flash of warm stone on the finish. Drink now through 2029. 167 cases made.  –JM

There’s pretty decadence and richness to the second wine of L’Evangile with chocolate, meat and spicy character. Very deep sweetness of fruit. Medium body, ripe and round tannins and a flavorful finish. Drink after 2023, but already delicious.

The 2016 Blason de L'Évangile is bold and racy, with remarkable depth for a second wine. Supple, fruit and easygoing, the 2016 will give readers immense pleasure over the next handful of years. Floral notes and red berry fruit carry the Blason nicely. Blas built on a core of young-vine Merlot, with 26% Cabernet Franc in the blend. The 2016 spent 14 months in once-used barrels.

The 2016 Blason de l'Evangile is made up of 74% Merlot and 26% Cabernet Franc. Medium to deep garnet-purple colored, it features lovely warm red fruit notes—kirsch, raspberry pie and redcurrants—with a core of black plums, cracked pepper, pencil shavings and cloves. Medium-bodied, elegant, refreshing and packed with vivacious red berry flavors, it has a fine-grained texture and long perfumed finish.

The Blason is a 50/50 blend of Cabernet Franc and Merlot, taking a month, from 4 September to 3 October, to pick due to 50% of the vines being affected by frost, which cut yields and delayed ripening - the optical sorter came in useful to identify the best bunches. This has good freshness and a sense of energy, with bright cherry fruits. The yield for the frosted vines was down to 4hl/ha, and on the non-frosted vines it was 40hl/ha, giving a final yield of 21hl/ha.

Tendre et souple, raffiné, un peu simple mais avec un charnu réjouissant.

The 2016 Blason de L'Evangile is a blend of 74% Merlot and 26% Cabernet Franc. It has a tightly wound bouquet, a little coquettish at first but opening nicely with black cherries, a touch of blueberry and minerals. The palate is medium-bodied with rather rigid tannin on the entry, a masculine Deuxième Vin, quite spicy with a dash of white pepper on the finish.

(74 Merlot, 26 Cabernet Franc) | Matured in one-year-old barrels Lovely, forward, bright and juicy this is a perfectly balanced wine and it will drink well on release. Don’t build it up, just relax and bathe your palate in Blason. 17

Picked 26 September to 10 October. Lots of Cabernet Franc, 26%, because it suffers in the drought so it mostly went into this second wine. Amazingly deep colour with a bit of herbaceousness. But not aggressively so. This would be a very nice early drink. Lightly drying sandpaper tannins on the end. Good luxurious oak here!
