Once bottled, Le Blanc d’Aiguilhe sheds the slightly oily impression it had during its En Primeur phase, as if a wine once reclining on the ground has now risen to its full one-meter stature. This wine delivers a pure, clear palate with distinct fruit aromas. Layers of banana, pear, acacia honey, and daisies emerge gracefully, revealing an agile character without depending on minerality.

All Sauvignon (there's a splash of Gris), the 2022 Château D'Aiguilhe Blanc has bright citrus, minty herbs, and orange blossom-like aromatics, and this medium-bodied, balanced, concentrated white shows a terrific sense of minerality on the finish.

The 2022 Le Blanc d'Aiguilhe has a subtle, well-defined bouquet that opens with beeswax, peach skin, nectarine and apple blossom aromas. The palate is well balanced with a lightly spiced entry and a touch of stem ginger on the aftertaste.

The 2022 Le Blanc d'Aiguilhe is 100% Sauvignon Blanc from vineyards in Côtes de Castillon, although that appellation can’t currently be designated for whites. Crushed rocks, slate, mint, chalk and white pepper cut through a core of citrus-infused fruit. What a gorgeous and vibrant white this is.

Expressive, herbal and grass notes on the nose, quite aromatic and inviting, a creamy lemon curd, green apple, and pear aroma. Smooth and well balanced, nice and round, a thrilling amount of acidity accents the fat. I like the sharp citrus element, a really tangy lemon and lime, grapefruit pith with some weight and texture that’s like tannins giving some energy, focus and density. Thrilling and round, supple and juicy. Tangy, focussed, nicely defined and easy to drink. Well balanced and enjoyable. Yield: 18 hl/ha. 30% new oak barrels.

Bottled in March, the 2022 Le Blanc d'Aiguilhe was picked on 26 August at 18hL/ha. Matured in 30% new oak, it offers peach melba and citrus scents on the nose. The palate is well balanced with a fine bead of acidity, fresh and lightly spiced with gooseberry and light smoky notes on the finish. Fine.

White pear and peach, saffron, slate and fennel, some edges of sweet passion fruit puree that veer to overdone but overall this is lovely, with unfussy charm. Harvest August 26, 18h/h yield, 30% new oak in large casks, pressed in full bunches. Separate winemaking team here from Canon la Gaffeliere, but both are overseen by Ludovic de Neipperg, from vines of Sancerre and Sauternes clones, field grafted onto former red grape plots in Castillon.

Beaucoup de fraîcheur et de subtilité dans le bouquet d'aiguilhe. Il révèle d'invitantes nuances de poires et d'agrumes ainsi que des notes d'anis et de menthe. Le vin me semble un peu plus crémeux, plus souple qu'à l'accoutumée, mais le côté salin de la finale apporte une fraîcheur bienvenue.

White flowers, yellow citrus and vanilla are clearly evident on the nose and palate. The wine has lift, sweetness and freshness in its core of yellow citrus and green apples that carries through from the mid-palate to the fruit-filled finish.
