Beauregard (BIO-ORGANIC) - Pomerol 2019

Château Beauregard, the pleasure from eyes to palate

Owned by the Moulins and Cathiard families since 2014, Château Beauregard is being reborn around its primary function: to produce a great Pomerol wine in the heart of a historic place dedicated to the residence of its guests. The property has built its reputation for several decades, not only on the majesty of the place, but also thanks to remarkably fresh and elegant wines.

Historically, it was one of the first estates in the region to expand its vineyards in the 18th century, and has enjoyed an exceptional terroir ever since. Its location on the southeastern edge of the famous Pomerol plateau allows the estate to exploit fascinating and valuable land for the cultivation of vines. Its vineyard covers 17.5 hectares - making it one of the largest in the Pomerol appellation - and is composed of more than 35 plots.

Driven by the desire to develop this estate with great humility and rigor, the teams decided to implement organic farming in 2009. This philosophy, both engaging and demanding, is bearing fruit today. The wines have gained in purity, freshness and ageing capacity.

As an extravagant vintage in terms of alcohol, this wine still keeps its purity and elegance, leaving me an image of a Metrosexual man with a tall figure and delicate skin. Why do I have this idea? 1. This wine provides a purely spiritual power like the black ink’s charisma in the Chinese culture; 2. 30% of Cabernet Franc sends out bouquets of violet from head to toe, contributing beautiful elegance; 3. The cacao-like creamy texture on the aftertaste holds all of the materials as a core, offering full of mysterious potentials. Highly recommended. ???????“????”???,?????????????????,????????????????,?????“???”?????????????:?????????????????????,??????????????;???30%????,????????????????????????????????????,????????????

From an estate that appears to be on an upward trajectory, the 2019 Château Beauregard is a textbook 2019 with its pure, elegant, seamless style. Black cherries, darker currants, leafy herbs, and floral notes all emerge on the nose, and its wonderfully textured, medium to full-bodied, has gorgeous tannins, and a great finish. It's up with the 2018 and certainly one of the finest vintages I've tasted from this address. It will drink well for 15-20 years.

The 2019 Beauregard offers up a rich bouquet of plums, cherries, baking chocolate and licorice, followed by a full-bodied, fleshy and sumptuous palate that's broad and enveloping, with an ample core of fruit, melting tannins and ripe but succulent acids. This is a gourmand, demonstrative Pomerol that's already drinking well. This certified-organic estate on the edge of the Pomerol plateau, opposite Petit Village, has been replanted at higher density and benefits from carefully winemaking.

The 2019 Beauregard is powerful, deep and super-expressive. There's terrific depth and resonance here. Black cherry, mocha, espresso, licorice, dried flowers and menthol power through. This is an especially muscular style that is more about impact than subtlety. Even so, the progress here over the last few years is worth noting. The 2019 is big, bold and delicious. Tasted two times.

The 2019 Beauregard remains just a little muted on the nose and only gradually reveals blackberry, sage and truffle scents. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red fruit mixed with the briny element that I commented upon from barrel, and good substance on the finish. This meliorates in the glass and I wager that it will evolve into a very fine Pomerol.

A perfumed nose of blackberries, blueberries, dark cherries, sweet praline, chocolate and dried lemons. Medium-to full-bodied with fine tannins. Beautiful sweetly spiced fruit with a fleshy texture and a flavorful, creamy finish. Drink from 2025.

Deep purple-black in color, the 2019 Beauregard has an expressive nose of baked plums, black cherry preserves and blueberry pie with hints of spice box, wilted roses, dark chocolate and aniseed. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is filled with lively, vibrant black fruits, framed by finely grained tannins, finishing on a provocative mineral note.

The 2019 Beauregard wraps around the palate with serious depth and density. Inky dark fruit, new leather, spice, menthol, licorice and chocolate add to the wine's dark, voluptuous personality. There is so much to admire about the 2019, starting with its impeccable balance. Tasted two times.

Always a terrific wine, the 2019 Château Beauregard offers a rocking bouquet of blackcurrants, toasted spice, chocolate, mocha, and tobacco. This ripe, full-bodied, sexy wine has sweet tannin, a great mid-palate, and no hard edges. It's going to rival the 2016 and certainly be one of the top vintages I've tasted from this estate.

The 2019 Beauregard has a tightly knit bouquet that demands coaxing from the glass: brambly black fruit, truffle and a touch of smoke emerge, albeit reluctantly. The palate is promising with dusky black fruit tinged with black tea, sea salt and sage, very briny and saline towards the finish. This is an intriguing Beauregard that is full of personality and maybe more cerebral than prior vintages.

“Dense and concentrated plum and damson on display. Some austerity right now, as you hope in a young wine. Harvest from September 12 on young vines and more than a week later for the older vines through to October 4. 3.7pH. Tasted again a few weeks later, delicious, same score.”

Kicking off with licorice, plums, espresso and spice box. The wine is soft, medium-bodied, forward and plummy. Give it a few years for the fruit to better integrate. The wine is blend of 70% Merlot with 30% Cabernet Franc. 89-91 Pts

A lovely nose, Merlot-ripe, Cabernet-Francfragrant; generous, fresh, firmly but finely tannic;
a Merlot sweetness of flavor beautifully defined by its Cabernet Franc aromatic freshness; full
yet fresh, gently racy, long to taste, succulent and juicy, but aromatically complex, too, and
with very fine scented length. A combination of opulence and freshness that is particularly
satisfying. A fine, complete, classy, and harmonious Beauregard, which will be delicious when fully mature. The best Beauregard yet ?

70% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Franc
