The 2020 Beaumont is fabulous in the way it marries power and finesse. Crushed red berry fruit, charcoal, dried flowers, spice and tobacco lend notable complexity. The 2020 has lost some of its youthful fruitiness, but none of its charm or pedigree. This is beautifully done.

"A good solid Haut-Médoc" is how I described the 2020 Beaumont when I tasted it from barrel. I've no need to alter that summation. A mixture of red and black fruit on the nose, this feels cohesive and detailed, not powerful yet it engages the senses. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy black fruit. There is just a slight bitterness that lends tension, quite sharp with black cherry, orange rind and cedar notes towards the finish. It's not going to win the wine of the vintage but it's a…well, I told you at the beginning.

The 2020 Beaumont offers ripe black fruit, briar and pine, just like it did from barrel; it’s well-defined, with maybe a little more vigor. The palate is medium-bodied with chalky tannins on the entry, fine acidity and a sapid, tobacco-tinged finish. There is a fine sense of classicism in this Haut-Médoc.

The 2020 Beaumont is dark, fleshy and wonderfully expressive. Charcoal, scorched earth, lavender and spice give this dark, plummy Haut-Médoc Cru Bourgeois Superieur so much character and personality. Expressive spice and floral notes reappear on the long, beautifully articulated finish. This is a winner.

The 2020 Beaumont has a well-defined bouquet of blackberry, briar and light pine cone scents plus a welcome touch of orange peel. The palate is medium-bodied and classic in style, with dry-ish tannins, but in no way austere; in fact, it displays fine depth and commendable salinity toward the finish. What they used to call "English gentleman’s claret," a.k.a. a good solid Haut-Médoc. Enjoy over 12–15 years.

Careful extraction sees a clear tannic frame to give balance and form to the wine without getting in the way of enjoyment, meaning this is a bottle that can easily be opened within the next few years. Silky texture, and the power builds through the palate, as concentrated brambled fruits begin to emerge. A slight bitterness overtakes the final push of the wine, this is spicy, intense and enjoyable. A yield of 40hl/ha. Tasted three times. Cru Bourgeois Supérieur.

Deep in color, the nose opens with smoke, spice, tobacco, herbs and dark red fruits. Round, and with much more ripeness and volume than in previous vintages, this is already a delight to taste due to all its sweet, chewy, ripe, fresh red fruits on the palate and in the finish. Le nez est aromatique et offre une petite concentration, une fine puissance, une petite fraîcheur. On y retrouve des notes de cassis sauvagen de mûre de boysen et plus légèrement d'herbes aromatiques associées à de petites touches de réglisse, de framboise écrasée ainsi qu'à de fines pointes de réglisse et d'amande caramélisée. La bouche est fruitée et offre de la jutosité, de la minéralité, une fine crémosité aérienne, une bonne définition, une certaine gourmandise, de la fraicheur, de la chair et une petite minéralité. En bouche ce vin exprime des notes de cassis sauvage ulpeux, de mûre écrasée et plus légèrement de prune bleue charnue associées à des touches de framboise, de violette, de lilas ainsi qu'à des pointes de chocolat, de tabac blond sucré et d'épices douces. Bonne longueur. Les tannins sont bien menés.

Bouquet complexe, de bonne intensité, alliant la minéralité et les notes fruitées. Nuances crayeuses suivies de baies noires et d'une touche mentholée et un soupçon de truffes! En bouche le vin est déjà bien accessible. Il est plutot élancé, élégant et parfaitement soutenu par une structure tannique précise qui se révèle lentement. Un vin prometteur que l'on pourra déjà approcher dans sa jeunesse.

Dark purple colour with violet hue and black core. Elegant nose with fine fruit, reminiscent of elderberries, fresh blackberries and hints of ripe blackcurrants, sublet oak and a hint of cold smoke in the background. On the palate pleasant flavour of liquorice, backed by ripe berries and plums, subtle oak and fine spiciness. A wine with wonderful freshness and very good length
