Jane Anson, Inside Bordeaux
par Jane Anson le 16/02/2024
First time on the Place de Bordeaux for one of my hands-down favourite Chardonnays, filled with lime juice, savoury lemongrass, sage, slate, gunsmoke, white flowers, has uplift and balance, understated and restrained at first then juice-filled as it opens. So much to love here, so good. 60% new oak. Kym Schroeter oversses the white winemaking at Penfolds, working with Peter Gago, with the grapes drawn from Tasmania, Tumbarumba and Adelaide Hills. One of the wines of the tasting.
