You feel the ripeness of the vintage in the generosity of these gorgeous ripe red and black fruits, shot through with a big dash of black truffle, black cherry and damson plums, with grilled espresso, caramel and salted toffee as it opens, placing you directly in Pomerol. Still plenty of tannic hold, you can drink now but there is no rush at all and will benefit from a few hours in a carafe. 40% new oak. (February 2022)

The 2015 Nénin has a perfumed red currant and wild strawberry scented bouquet laced with tar and cedar, quite pure and delineated. The palate is medium-bodied with edgy tannin, a fine bead of acidity, plenty of graphite-tinged black fruit with a spicy and rather persistent finish. Excellent. Tasted blind at the Southwold 2015 Bordeaux tasting.

The 2015 Nenin has a clean and fresh redcurrant and cranberry-scented bouquet with touches of black truffle and cold stone. I would just like a little more intensity here but it may well have closed down since bottling. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, very harmonious and taut, quite understated when compared to the Nenins of a few years ago, segueing into a white pepper-tinged finish. Very fine. Anticipated maturity: 2021 - 2042.

The 2015 Nénin was one of the most pleasant surprises of my tastings of bottled 2015s, as the wine has really come together nicely since I tasted it from barrel. Deep, pliant and wonderfully fleshy, the 2015 has so much to offer. Above all else, it is flat out delicious. Soft contours add to the wine's considerable near and medium-term appeal.

Lush and ripe, set apart in this vintage by good, juicy energy that allows the plum sauce, raspberry pâte de fruit and cherry compote flavors to be vibrant and engaging, backed by red licorice and singed vanilla details on the straight-backed finish. Best from 2022 through 2035. 2,667 cases made.  –JM

Classic Pomerol character of black olives, wet earth, violets and dark fruit. Full-bodied, tight and silky-textured with fabulous texture. Stones and dark berries. So serious and real. The depth is like looking down a well. Give it three to four years to integrated but already beautiful. Try in 2023 and onwards.

Old vine (25 years plus) Cabernet Franc and Merlot on the plateau close to Trotanoy make up the majority of Nenin's grand vin, and here we see that 2015 Pomerols are not just exuberant but capable of real power. Right now this is closed, with a focus on grip and tension - it was only bottled in June 2017. There is almost a touch of austerity on the finish, the Cabernet Franc giving a little kick and restraining the exuberance of the Merlot. The fruit here is clearly perfectly ripe, but still has integrity and a shiver of freshness. A good 8-10 years before reaching its peak. 3.7pH.

Notes of ripe plums, black cherries, freshly laid asphalt and scorched earth dominate the bouquet of the 2015 Château Nenin. Made from 65% Merlot and 35% Cabernet Franc, it offers a beautifully ripe, medium to full-bodied personality, bright acidity, and sweet tannin, and is going to evolve gracefully for 15-20 years. I was blown away by this wine when I tasted it from barrel, and it certainly didn’t disappoint from bottle.

The 2015 Nenin is a blend of 67% Merlot and 33% Cabernet Franc, cropped at 37 hl/ha between 17 September and 5 October over nine picking days. The alcohol arrives at 14.3%. Matured in 35% new oak, it sports a precise and elegant bouquet. This is a more nuanced Nenin compared to recent vintages whereby the Merlot is more expressive than the Cabernet Franc at present. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-grain tannin. This is very well balanced, a more sophisticated Nenin than in recent years, due to Jean-Hubert Delon's decision to deselect some worthy parcels into the deuxième vin. There is an attractive sappiness towards the finish that lingers nicely in the mouth. I would just like to see that Cabernet Franc finding its voice by the time this 2015 is in bottle, but this Nenin has very good potential. One to watch. Drink 2022-2045

Cocoa, flowers, plum and cherry notes on the nose, with fresh kirsch and cherry griotte on the palate. The finish gives you even more cherries, crisp cassis and a basket of strawberries. This wine was produced from 67% Merlot and 33% Cabernet Franc and reached 14.3% alcohol with a pH of 3.72. The Grand Vin is 70% of the production. This is certainly a contender for the best vintage of Nenin ever produced. The owner, Jean-Hubert Delon has definitely committed to making better wine, and it shows!

A third of the crop and probably the most precise wine yet from this Léoville-Las Cases-owned property. Constructed in the house style with fine-grained tannins and impressive length and freshness. Less opulence than previous years but very pure2023-2040

The 2015 Nenin is 67% Merlot and 33% Cabernet Franc. Deep, pliant and expressive, the 2015 captures all of the sensuality of the year in its dark red cherry, plum, mocha, spice and leather nuances. Succulent and ripe, yet very much medium in body, the 2015 should drink well upon release. The 2015 is not especially complex or structured, but it is a delicious wine to enjoy for its bounty of fruit and impeccable overall balance.

New winemaker for the last two years. Lots of replanting. Nine days of picking spread over three weeks (17 September - 5 October). Used vertical and pneumatic press for different portions. Eric Boissenot advises on how to treat each lot. 8% of press wine in this final blend. 67% Merlot and 33% Cabernet Franc. Very dark and precise-looking - quite different from the Fugue. Rich but tense. Lots of heady ripeness but some structure too. I'm sure the press wine is doing a great job. Very luscious. Attention-grabbing without being at all exaggerated. Drink 2025-2040.

Bonne longueur.

Most structured and powerful Nenin I have tasted in 30 years. Full body incredible brightness and beauty. Loads of blackberry and mineral character. Extremely long and intense. Creamy texture goes on for minutes. 33% cabernet franc and 63% merlot

Packed with fresh plum, black licorice and boysenberry coulis flavors, all inlaid with enticing spice notes. Offers a pure finish, leaning a bit toward stony cut rather than the velvety side. A very solid effort.—J.M.
