Plenty of botrytis, dried mushroom, apricot, orange peel and honey aromas and flavors. It's medium-bodied with a very sweet palate and a racy and intense finish. Tight at the end. Very classic Sauternes. 178 g/L residual sugar. Drink or hold.

Lafaurie-Peyraguey gehört zu den Weinen, die keine langen Reden halten müssen: Sie setzen die Maßstäbe gleich zu Beginn, ohne Umwege! So kündigt das Bouquet eine Vielzahl von Nuancen an, die zwischen Frische und Reife schwanken, zwischen Zitrone und Quittengelee, gepaart mit blumigen Nuancen. Nebenbei lassen sich Düfte von Orangenblüten, Pfirsichen, Passionsfrüchten, Madras-Curry und schließlich ein Hauch von Safran feststellen. Am Gaumen ist der Zucker gleich zu Beginn von der vorhandenen Dichte umgeben. Da sind Opulenz, Spannung, Kraft und vor allem eine außergewöhnliche Balance. Der Wein nimmt buchstäblich Besitz vom Gaumen... oder umgekehrt! Der Wein ist nie exzessiv, sondern von großer Eleganz. Und doch ist er kraftvoll, ja sogar imposant, während er gleichzeitig seine feine und köstliche Art unterstreicht. Ein bemerkenswerter Wein.

Revealing a deeper gold hue, the 100% Semillon 2023 Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey has a ripe, decadent bouquet of caramelized pineapple, honeyed mint, spice, and candied orange. It's a rich, powerful, full-bodied monster of a Sauternes offering terrific sweetness, bright, integrated acidity, and a great finish. Count me impressed. It's another heavenly sweet wine in the vintage.

Apricot, saffron, cashew nuts, roasted pineapples, candied tangerine, mango, and vanilla bean aromatics let you know you are in for a sweet, treat. Juxtaposed between candied, and vibrant, the wine is intense, racy, and sweet, leaving you with ripe, very ripe, and overripe pineapples, apricots, spice, honey, and vanilla bean. The wine is produced from 100% Semillon. Drink from 2029-2055. 95-97 Pts.

Intense golden amber in colour, reflecting a small yield, this has the rich intensity of the appellation, succulent and opulent and yet bursting with powerful lime zest, orange peel, preserved lemons, white truffle, pineapple, mandarin peel and slate. Luscious with grip and lift, and a clear return to form after a challenging 2022 here. Now majority owned by the Lalique luxury goods company rather than its owner Silvio Denz, with the sale completed in October 2023 (the same group owns The Glenturret whisky).

The 2023 Lafaurie-Peyraguey is a classy, bracing dry white from Silvio Denz. Sauvignon Blanc takes the lead. Lime, sage, tomato leaf and white pepper notes abound in this dynamic, flavorful white.

The 2023 Lafaurie-Peyraguey has a pure and perfumed bouquet with dried honey, peony, orange blossom and quince aromas that are very well defined. The palate is well balanced with a viscous opening and superb acidity, flush with very pure marmalade, quince and apricot flavors. Incredibly persistent on the finish, this is a very impressive Sauternes.

A dense and very intense Sauternes with spiced pear, apple and orange peel. Caramel and spice with some brown sugar. Full and deep. Very sweet. Flavorful finish. Shows depth and intensity. 160 g/L residual sugar. Reminds me of 2003. 100% semillon.
