The 2017 Reynon is one of the better wines readers will come across in this price range. In 2017, the ripeness of the year comes through in intense blackberry jam, chocolate, leather, licorice and spice notes, all of which give the wine its decidedly racy, flamboyant personality. Tasted two times.

The 2017 Reynon offers an upfront, quite bold bouquet with touches of dark chocolate infusing the blackcurrant and cassis-scented fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with fleshy tannin, vibrant red cherry and raspberry fruit with quite a caressing, sensual finish that feels balanced and approachable.

Deep garnet-purple, the 2017 Reynon opens with crushed red currants and black plums notes, giving way to underbrush and black pepper nuances. Medium-bodied with a very grippy texture and appealing freshness, it's just a little hard on the finish.

Lacking a little juiciness through the mid palate, but this has some bright redcurrant fruit on the attack, and keeps the foot on the right side of extraction. This makes for fresh and soft early to medium drinking from the Dubourdieu estate.
